“Moey Live -- P is for Party!” Debuts Off-Broadway at the DR2 Theatre in Union Square, NYC
Sundays at 11:00 AM and 1:00 PM, October 5 - October 26, 2008

NEW YORK, NY (October 8, 2008) – Beloved NYC children’s performer Melissa Levis (aka Moey) stars in Moey Live -- P is for Party!, the colorful, interactive musical for children ages 1 to 8 at the DR2 Theatre on 103 East 15th Street in Union Square, NYC. Using words and props that start with the letter P, the audience plans the best party ever with pompoms, princesses, pirates, pizza, puppets, piñatas, and Moey, the “Pied Piper in Pink!”

Levis was introduced to Broadway by her Aunt Wendy Wasserstein. Wendy gave Melissa the cast album of Annie, her first feather boa, and a lifetime love of musicals. Levis says, “I was raised on Free To Be You and Me and School House Rock. It’s been my dream to create great kids songs to inspire today’s children the way those songs rocked my world.”

Kids dance on stage, sing from their seats, and get prizes for dressing up in princesses and pirate costumes. “It’s like ‘Rocky Horror’ for toddlers!” says Levis.

Moey earned the moniker “The Pied Piper in Pink” after giving 20 concerts this summer on behalf of Central Park Conservancy, The New York Public Library, Union Square Park, Carl Shurz Park, the Tribeca Film Festival, and Barnes & Noble. Moey’s Music Party is performing at Cookie Magazine’s “Moms on Madison” charity event at the DKNY store on Saturday, October 4th and Barnes & Noble Tribeca at 4:00 on October 7th. The new semester of Moey’s Music Party classes for children ages 6 months – 3 years begins on October 16th at Café Notte on 2nd Avenue from 9:30-12:00 every Thursday.

Moey Live -- P is for Party!, birthday kids are invited on stage for a special birthday song with their name in it. Parents who buy 10 tickets receive 2 free tickets. Birthday groups that buy 30 tickets get 6 free tickets plus complimentary use of the DR2 birthday party room. Friday matinees at 10:00 AM and 12:00 PM are offered for school groups.
