Moey’s Music Party Releases 3rd CD, Princess Revolution!
200 NYC Princesses Rock Mrs. Astor’s Ballroom at the Princess Ball on April 23, 2012
NEW YORK, NY (April 5, 2012) – Moey’s Music Party, the NYC-based award-winning children’s entertainer, will release it’s new CD, Princess Revolution! on April 24, 2012 during the first National Princess Week.
To celebrate the CD release, on April 23rd at 11AM and 3PM, Moey's Music Party invites children of all ages to dress in their sparkly finest and attend Moey’s Princess Ball at the New York Junior League (130 East 80th St. NYC). Girls may feel like Cinderella as they waltz in the grand ballroom of the former home of famed New York socialite, Mrs. Vincent Astor. Entertainment includes the Ballooniac, The Pipe Cleaner Lady, Bitten By A Zebra Photography, Face Painting by Melissa and a concert by Moey’s Music Party. Every princess gets a tiara from Oriental Trading Company and a special prize for the best dressed at the ball. Each ball is 90 minutes; tickets are $25.00 and can be purchased at MoeysMusicParty.com or by calling 917.680.6739.
Princess Revolution! is a girl-power concept album that celebrates the exuberant, can-do spirit in all girls. It builds on the success of Moey’s Music Party’s CD/DVD 2011 release, Happily Ever Moey! A Fairy Tale Lark in Central Park (winner of Parents' Choice, NAPPA, Kids First, and Creative Child awards, and named a Top 10 Product at Toy Fair 2012). Princess Revolution! also includes modern musical re-tellings of classic fairy tales, such as “Sleeping Beauty,” “The Princess and the Pea,” and “Snow White.” The original songs promote confidence, leadership, and joyful self-expression.
“My goal is to entertain kids while empowering them with the message that princesses don’t have to be helpless maidens. Instead, they can choose to be helpful heroines who can wake themselves with their own magical kisses, slay a dragon or even rescue a prince!” says Moey, a.k.a. Melissa Levis, lead singer and songwriter of Moey’s Music Party.
“My aunt, Wendy Wasserstein, gave me my first feather boa,” Moey said. “She was a revolutionary playwright who gave a voice to her generation of uncommon women. It gives me joy to encourage girls to celebrate their sparkle and share Wendy’s legacy with this new generation of uncommon girls.”
The Princess Revolution! Tour, sponsored by Oriental Trading Company, includes performances at J & R Music World (Sunday, April 22), The Tribeca Film Festival (Saturday, April 28), Bryant Park (Saturday, June 23), and more.
Moey is New York City’s #1 Mommy Rocker, according to ParentsConnect.com by Nickelodeon. In addition to leading weekly music classes and frequent birthday party performances, Moey rocks out for 10,000 children a year at venues including the NY Public Library, Central Park, FAO Schwarz, Bloomingdale's, Williamsburg Waterfront, 92Y Tribeca and more.
