"Moey takes the stage…and the rest is Mommy Rock History.”
TIME OUT NEW YORK KIDS
Moey (a.k.a. “Melissa Levis”) is New York City’s #1 mommy rocker and an award-winning Off-Broadway songwriter, is leading a “princess revolution” on New York City’s playgrounds, empowering and entertaining children with musical kid-power takes on classic tales. Parents call her “The Pied Piper in Pink” because she has performed for tens of thousands of children throughout New York City.

Moey’s Music Party has entertained children at FAO Schwarz, The New York Public Library, The Tribeca Film Festival and more. She created Central Park’s Sandbox Sing-Along Series, performing more than 25 concerts in playgrounds throughout Central Park.
Happily Ever Moey! A Fairy Tale Lark in Central Park, their Summer 2011 DVD/CD recently won a Parents Choice “Fun Stuff” Award, National Parenting Publications Award and a starred review in School Library Journal.
Their debut CD, Moey’s Music Party, won the Dr. Toy Award and received accolades from magazines, moms—and even Mayor Bloomberg.
Moey teaches weekly Moey’s Music Party classes for infants, toddlers, preschoolers and their caregivers at the New York Junior League. Her classes, each of which has a party theme, introduce children to instruments, songs, dances, puppets, letters, and fairytales. She also developed “Preschool Pop,” an early learning music curriculum that she has taught to Pre-K students at P.S. 158.
She rocked Off-Broadway with a two-month run of Moey Live - P is for Party! at the DR2 Theatre. The New York Times gave it a glowing endorsement noting that kids “dress up and go crazy as they follow Moey in a musical adventure to plan a fabulous party with things like puppets, princesses, pom-poms, and pirates."
Moey also has rocked out with ‘80s rocker Billy Squire and has written songs for 2008 Presidential candidate Bill Richardson, former Canadian Prime Minster Brian Mulroney and actor Eli Wallach.
She is a graduate of Brown University and earned an MFA from New York University.
